Apparently I should have been more careful, when a placed two spawned villagers in my town. I built a town in my server, a bit away from the spawn. Right on top of a long hole in the ground.

Started building a castle / fort on the mountain nearby. Not intending to spawn villagers there though. Also thinking about making a wheat farm, to pretty the place up.
